He was born with congenital heart disease and has had multiple surgeries throughout his lifetime. Thus, to help those like him, she has spent much of her career working in cardiac surgical ICU. Dedication to her patients was seen as she recalls caring for a young female patient while working at Mayo Clinic in the adult/pediatric cardiac surgical ICU. This patient was on her fourth open heart surgery, thus was hospitalized for a prolonged period. To make her forget about being in the hospital, Lindsey would bring her favorite snacks, play games or watch movies. To this day, they still communicate. Dr. Wesley wasn’t always involved in medicine – in fact, he spent the first 10 years of out college as an accountant. It wasn’t until 2009 that he decided to pursue his career in medicine. He is very passionate about geriatric medicine and hopes to expand his passion to help the older patient population to not only live longer but live better. Outside of work, Dr. Wesley enjoys getting involved in his church, running, watching college sports, taking walks, cooking, video games, and spending time with his wonderful wife and two cats.
